Dad lost his leg in an accident and the driver never even apologized

So my dad got into a car accident and lost his left leg. The person who hit him never apologized. Not once.

Mom had to go to the maternity ward alone because she was giving birth to my little sibling at the time, so I was the one sitting in dad's hospital room by myself. I was so scared. Like genuinely terrified, I was just a kid sitting there alone.

Dad couldn't go back to work after that. The family went completely broke. And then mom got cancer on top of everything else.

Dad used to cry alone every night saying he was sorry. Sorry to all of us.

He's okay now though. His business took off and we're doing well.
