my exam buddy randomly bought me a drink and now we won't stop texting

So we're doing study hall all day next week before the exam and our teacher paired us up boy-girl style. My partner's this transfer student guy and I was SO curious about him, like I'm the type who asks a million questions. Where are you from, what's your dream, blood type, literally everything. But he kept dodging me at first, then just started giving me half-ass answers so I was like okay he's annoyed, let me back off. So I stopped asking him stuff and just studied on my own.

Then one morning he hands me a drink straight up. Says he grabbed it from the vending machine, didn't want it, told me to drink it. And I was like... wait are you actually talking to me now?

I was trying to play it cool, like "oh thanks man" but LITERALLY inside I was dying. The way that one drink flip switched something. We've been texting ever since and honestly? I think this is going somewhere.
