two childhood stories that gave me chills tbh

okay so two stories in this post and both of them got me

**Story 1:**

So this person (OP) doesn't actually remember this, they were told it later. When they were in kindergarten they got lost, and their mom spent the ENTIRE night running around the neighborhood crying looking for them. Finally found them at a police station.

The cops had been asking the kid their name this whole time. And the kid kept saying "Jeong-ah." That's it. Just Jeong-ah.

The cops were like okay??? what kind of name is that??? and the kid just kept repeating it.

Turns out... that wasn't their name. Not even close. But the kindergarten bag they were carrying had "Jeong-ah" written on it because it belonged to some other kid. Someone grabbed the wrong bag that day.

And this child. This baby. Just fully adopted that identity and sat there telling police officers their name was Jeong-ah until mom showed up.

I'm crying.

**Story 2 (the actually scary one):**

This commenter is a student studying abroad so they only visit Korea sometimes. Last night of every trip, they always sleep in the master bedroom with their mom. The room layout is: door, then hallway-style area, bathroom across from a wardrobe, and the actual bedroom in the middle.

So they came home, went to bed with mom as usual. Mom always puts a clock by her pillow. Normal.

Except that night OP wasn't feeling well and fell asleep first.

They wake up in the middle of the night and mom is suddenly going "누구세요? 누구세요? 누구신데 거기 서계세요? 누구세요?" ("who's there? who are you? who's standing there?") over and over.

OP tries to get up to look. Their body won't move.

And then...
