He asked why I didn't say my own name

So in 9th grade my seatmate was genuinely insanely good-looking and like literally everyone knew it. I was so lucky to be sitting next to him that we ended up in the same desk unit. His seatmate was this really pretty girl so obviously everyone was constantly joking like 'when are you two getting together' right. And because I was at the same desk unit I just... started joining in on the teasing. But then when we kept messing with him about it he was like 'stop. I already like someone.' LMAOOO the entire class lost it. Everyone's screaming 'WHO?? WHO IN OUR CLASS??' absolute chaos for like a week.

And here's the thing. I ACTUALLY liked him so much but I thought there was literally zero chance so I was basically giving up. But one day I got brave and I was like 'okay let me guess who you like' and he said 'sure go ahead.' So I asked 'is it someone in our class?' and he said 'yeah.' So I literally just. Named every single girl in our classroom one by one. Every. Single. One. And he kept saying no to all of them.

I'm sitting there trying so hard to think like WHO ELSE IS THERE and he just goes 'why didn't you say your own name?'

I have never been that nervous in my entire life. Deadass.
