my gf is mourning her animal crossing villager like it's a real breakup

so my girlfriend's been playing animal crossing lately and one of her favorite villagers just moved away. she's been SULKING all day about it. like genuinely depressed.

and I'm sitting here like... this is what we're calling parasocial relationships now right? because here's the thing. when WE moved away from our old neighborhood she did NOT get this upset. she was fine. but a DIGITAL ANIMAL leaves and she's spiraling.

so like... is she literally dating a video game character at this point???? I can't even.

I'm lowkey thinking about going over and smashing her switch with a hammer or something. that'll fix the problem real quick LMAO
