the kind of relationship where you just... exist together

you know that relationship that's just so comfortable? like you're both too tired in the morning so you're arguing about who showers first, and then one of you is like "fine I'll make tteokbokki" and the other one goes "ugh fine" and shuffles off to shower. you're not even mad about it.

so you're making tteokbokki and they finally shuffle out looking absolutely wrecked, messy hair and everything, just sits at the table watching you cook. you hand them some water and when you set down the food they get this stupid happy smile on their face. like genuinely grateful. and then they're like "well I made the effort to shower so YOU'RE doing dishes" and you watch them waddle to the bathroom holding their stomach and you're just. laughing.

and you're doing dishes when they come up behind you out of nowhere and hug you from behind, "thanks for the food" all soft and you're not even thinking about it, just existing together. so you grab leftover baskin robbins from yesterday and open up a movie on the laptop. their favorite flavor mixed with your favorite flavor and somehow you both end up loving the same one now. every single time.

sad scene comes on and they're crying and you're just holding them. kissing scene happens and you kiss them too because why not. spicy scene and you're both just like. "...mmm." LMAO.

you both get so drowsy you just pass out. wake up like "what do we eat" "chicken galbi?" "oh my god yes." roll up to your regular spot near the house, the owner already knows exactly what to bring. couple drinks, and you're just talking. like you've said these same stories a hundred times but there's somehow always more to say. you're slightly buzzed holding hands walking back, "what should we eat tomorrow" "tomorrow you shower first" and you're bickering the whole way but your hands never let go.

that kind of relationship.
