the popular guy from my school just became my hero (and I'm losing it)

okay so there's this guy at our school who's literally the most popular in our grade. he's in class 5, I'm in class 1, and I've never talked to him because honestly I was too scared and wanted to avoid him anyway. but like, even OTHER guys get nervous around him. so I've been avoiding him too.

then one day I'm walking down the stairs on the 2nd floor and my friend pushes me (not malicious, just messing around) and I TWIST MY ANKLE BADLY. like genuinely painful. so my friend helps me to the nurse's office and we get there and... the nurse just LEFT. locked the door. said she'd be back in a second.

so I'm sitting outside the nurse's office door just crouching there in pain, my friend goes looking for another teacher, and I'm just... sitting there. dying. and then I realize.

the nurse's office door is RIGHT NEXT TO the boys bathroom.

and out walks. that guy. the popular one. I literally curl into myself I'm so embarrassed. my friend who pushed me is panicking and apologizing, and then POPULAR GUY walks out and sees me crouching there with my hurt leg.

and he TALKS TO ME FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. just goes "hey, what's wrong?"

I'm freaking out so I'm like "oh... um... my ankle..." all nervous and quiet.

so he asks "who hurt you? or did you fall?"

and I was ABOUT TO say I fell, but then my friend goes "no I pushed her on the stairs, that's my bad." and suddenly popular guy gets SERIOUS. like actually mad. he tells my friend to go to class 5 (where they both are) and then HE JUST. SITS DOWN IN THE HALLWAY WITH ME.

he puts his jacket over my legs (I was in a skirt lmaooo) and stays with me talking until the nurse comes back. and he's SMILING while he talks to me. like genuinely smiling. I've never seen him like that before and I'm LOSING MY MIND.

I still don't know what just happened. why did he care. why did he sit with me. I can't stop thinking about it.
